Between Us, Mom

Do you know that some of your food preferences during the pregnancy can be reflected in your child's food preferences and get more evident when he or she grows up?
When I was about five or six years old, we had a plum tree in front of our kitchen. I remember climbing on a stool to get the green, barely visible fruit when their flowers were still there.I liked their sour taste so much that I used to go from branch to branch and get them. That was a part of my everyday "treat". But by the time of the ripening, there were not so many plums left.
My mother told me that she used to do the same before she had me.
When I was pregnant with my first daughter, I ate many cherries. Now, when we go to do grocery shopping together, the cherries are on her shopping list.
I ate a lot of watermelon during my second pregnancy, and guess what? My oldest son enjoys watermelon the most. A few weeks ago, while I and his sweet wife were buying watermelon at one of the stores - she had three, I had three, in the same cart- we caught peoples' eyes opened wide when they saw our choice. Even the clerk made a joke about it.
My second daughter likes oranges. Yes, it's not a mystery anymore: I ate tens of pounds of oranges while carrying her.
I don't remember about a specific food during the pregnancy with my second son. I know that I liked to eat. And he likes to eat, too.

9- Who Are You ???

I know, this is strange.
Cookie loves me - and this is not the strange part. She comes to sit on my lap for a few seconds to be patted, she sleeps on my bed sometimes during the day, she follows me in the garden to see the birds and the butterflies, she tries the taste of grass and of certain flowers...Hmmm...
The weird thing is that every morning we have to make friends again because she can not recognize me. I talk to her, she meows and jumps on the piano. When I want to avoid stepping on her when she is on the floor in my way, she races to the other bedroom, barely catching her breath...
"Hello, I am your friend! I love you!" I keep telling her when she dares to step in the kitchen where I'm making my coffee. Slowly she comes around somehow. However,we make friends again and the day goes on with open hearts.
Cookie Cookie Dough, I love you!

8-Cookie Again

When I was telling you that Cookie likes to write and create, I wasn't joking at all. She might be a very good tailor, too, but working with scissors can be dangerous. Now she is waiting for George, the squirrel, to come from the backyard because Cookie Dough is trying something new today: to draw his portrait. She is ambitious and is working hard since she failed the drawing class...

" Yes, let's the party begin!"

One-two
The sky is blue,

Five-six

Seven-eight
Don't be late!
Nine -ten
Uncle Ben.

6-The Twins Are Back

"We are home!"
Lulu and Lola, the twins, put their arms around their older sister in a sweet hug. Yellow left a kiss on each of their cheeks.
"How was the camp?"
"Was great, but we missed you," both said in one voice.
"I missed you, too!" and Yellow touched her eyes with a tissue to dry her tears. They held hands on the way to the house.
"Guess what? I made pizza to celebrate your return." The older sister continued with a big smile. "And we have guests..."
The Sun blinked at them and hid behind a fluffy cloud.

Hurray! Let's the party begin!

5-George

Hi, everyone! My name is George. I just found out that some folks plan to go to the Fair. Locked my house, hid the key under the threshold and here I am. Why I built my house on an electrical poll? Because I like the light, the sparkling light...

4-By the Way...

"...did anybody mention the Fair? I can take you to the Fair :)" Cookie Cookie-Dough jumped on the chair to see the little chicks better. They were small and soft like little balls of cotton. The not-that-blond-cat sighed: their Mom was watching her...

3-Behind Bars

"Hey, who put us behind bars? We want to go to the Fair!" Mama Hen smiled with understanding. Her chicks could be so loud! "Oh, dear ones, be patient! There is a cat around here."

2-Yellow

Yellow was very happy. Her twin sisters were coming home from the summer camp today at noon. She looked at her new watch from Grandma: it was so beautiful! Hmmm... but what was the time?
Yellow didn't know how to read the watch yet. And that was very embarrassing.
The Sun, her friend, waved at her.
"I can see the school bus coming up the street. It is noon already."
She turned her face towards him and smiled.
"Thank you!" and ran to open the gate.
It was so good to have friends! Friends and sisters are the best!

1-Cookie Cookie-Dough

This is Cookie Cookie-Dough. She is two. When she was one and a half, Cookie realized that she was not blond. Well, she saw herself in the mirror for many times, but had no idea who that was.
Cookie likes to create her own music. She writes it down on paper and falls asleep because of the hard work.
